Order a port on HOUIX
Online ordering is for ports on HOUIX's own switches, at its own locations. Ports on extension switches can't be ordered online yet; for those, email peering@ix.net.
Houston Internet Exchange is one of IX.NET's free, non-profit internet exchanges. Here you can order a port, upgrade a port's speed, or disconnect.
Sign in with your PeeringDB account. You can order for any network your account is affiliated with on PeeringDB.
Before ordering, make sure your network's PeeringDB record has an IRR AS-SET (or your ASN) that expands to your prefixes. We also send order mail and the LOA to the record's NOC and Technical contacts.
When you order, we reserve a switch port and addresses for you straight away. Once we've reviewed the order, we email the LOA. The port stays reserved for 30 days while you arrange the cross-connect.
